June Lam - Co-Chair, Conference and Social Interest and Diversity Committees

June Lam has over 30 years of experience working with children, teens and their families. June initially trained as a Child and Youth Worker and worked in group homes with troubled youth. This included pregnant teens as well as street youth. She later returned to school to learn more and did her undergrad at York University with a Major in Psychology. She, then, worked with women in shelters and became interested in the social aspect of helping, so she completed a Bachelor of Social Work.

To get away from all the social problems of Toronto, she decided to work abroad in Japan for 3 years and learned a lot about people, their differences and their similarities’. When she returned to Canada, she decided that she needed to learn more and enrolled in the Adler School of Professional Psychology, got married, had 2 children and graduated in 1999. She worked for the Canadian Mental Health Association and Adults with Disabilities until her her graduation from the Adler school.

June currently works in the field of Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) since 1999. She has for the last 3 years started working as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients with a special interest in couple work. Additional training has been focused on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Relational Life Therapy which she is continuously learning and developing.
